05 July 2016 – Philippine Ambassador to Brazil Jose D.R. Burgos joined the Heads of Mission of ASEAN Member-States in Brasilia for the Handover of Chairmanship of the ASEAN Committee in Brasilia (ACB) in a simple ceremony held at the Embassy of Indonesia on June 27.
The ACB, which was approved by the ASEAN Secretary General in February 2013, is composed of seven ASEAN Member-States present in Brasilia, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Viet Nam.
Ambassador of Malaysia Rahimi Harun took over from Ambassador of Indonesia Toto Riyanto the ACB Chairmanship and with it the duties of leading and coordinating the projects and activities of the ACB towards further strengthening the ASEAN-Brazil relations.
Ambassador Burgos was selected as Vice Chair to serve with Ambassador Harun from July to December 2016. END
