11 July 2016 – The Philippine Franchise Association (PFA) headed by PFA Chairman Emeritus Mr. Samie Lim participated in the Myanmar Franchise Expo & Conference 2016 held at the Tatmadaw Hall, Yangon from July 01 to 03.
Philippine Ambassador to Myanmar Alex G. Chua met with the PFA delegation at the opening ceremony attended by members of the ASEAN diplomatic corps. In a meeting with the PFA delegation, he expressed hope that the signing of a partnership agreement between the PFA and the Myanmar Retailers Association (MRA) in 2015 will help boost trade exchanges between Philippine and Myanmar businesses.
The PFA’s participation is part of the ongoing effort of the association to create awareness in Myanmar of Philippine franchise brands. Last year, PFA sent a business delegation to the Myanmar International Franchise & SME Expo held in Yangon and the MRA participated in the Asia Franchise PHL 2015 in Manila on June 10 to 14, 2015. The partnership agreement between the PFA and MRA is expected to promote business linkages in an integrating ASEAN Economic Community. END
