13 July 2016 - The Philippine Consulate General in Chicago sent a team over the weekend to St. Louis, Missouri to provide consular outreach services to Filipinos, as part of its initiative of bringing public service closer to its constituents.

The outreach was done in coordination with the Filipino-American Association of Missouri (FAAMO), and was held at the Days Inn Hotel conference room, 3654 S. Lindbergh Blvd., St. Louis, on Saturday, July 09, from 8:00 a.m to 7:00 p.m.

The outreach began with a program featuring remarks from Consul General to Chicago Generoso D.G. Calonge and Ms. Lea Murray, President of FAAMO. The opening program also featured two guest speakers, Atty. Rochelle Ballentine of the National Labor Relations Board and Ms. Amanda Mohl, Anti-Trafficking Community Coordinator at the International Institute of St. Louis. Atty. Ballentine and Ms. Mohl gave brief presentations about the services provided by their respective offices, and welcomed queries from the Filipino American audience regarding labor rights and human trafficking.

The Consular team was led by Consul General Calonge, and consisted of: Consul Alena S. Borra, Mr. Cornelio P. Santiago, Ms. Radegunda C. Velasco-Dela Cruz, Mr. Antonio Fernando S. Ocampo, Ms. Wenilyn M. Capote, and Mr. Abraham D. Castillo.

A total of 266 consular services were rendered during the outreach, which included passport applications, dual citizenship, visa, notarials, and civil registration. END
