18 July 2016 - The Philippine Embassy in Berlin presented a lecture on “Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women” with Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) Executive Director Emmeline Verzosa as resource person. The talk on July 07 at the Philippine Embassy drew in about 50 attendees from the Filipino community organizations and Filipino-German students.

Ms. Verzosa gave an overview of the operations of PCW, the current state of Filipino women and the Foreign Service Post’s responsibility in handling gender concerns of female migrant workers.  During the Q&A, better cooperation between the Embassy and the Filipino community with regard to helping Filipino women migrant workers and spouses was discussed.
