10 October 2013 – Philippine Ambassador to Chile Maria Consuelo Puyat-Reyes hosted a luncheon recently to give former Chilean President and currently a presidential candidate of Chile’s New Majority coalition, Michelle Bachelet, a chance to present her program of government to the diplomatic corps. 

A number of women ambassadors in Santiago attended the event representing Asia, Europe, North and South America.

It is very significant to note that the event demonstrated the closeness that exists between Madam Bachelet and Ambassador Puyat-Reyes that started during the former’s term as President of the Republic of Chile from 2006 until 2010.

Adding a cultural flair to the event was each ambassador’s offering a traditional dish from her country to be shared by all. After the sumptuous meal which lasted four hours, the event ended on a high note and was deemed emotional and memorable by all attendees.  END
