20 July 2016 - Upon the invitation of the United States Army Pacific (USARPAC) Commander, the Philippine Consulate General attended the change of command ceremony for the turn-over of the leadership of the 8th Theater Sustainment Command (8th TSC) from outgoing Commander, Major General Edward F. Dorman III to Major General Susan A. Davidson at the Hamilton Field, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii held on July 08. The ceremony was attended by USARPAC Commander Gen. Robert Brown, Colonel Philipp A. Mead, Deputy Commander, 8th TSC, US Army officers and family members, and members of Hawaii’s consular corps.
The 8th TSC’s mission is “to posture and prepare assigned forces, execute mission command, synchronize operational and theater strategic effects and engage regional partners and allies in order to contribute to a stable and secure USPACOM Area of Responsibility”. The Command has eight units under its jurisdiction including the 130th Theater Engineer Brigade, 8th Military Police Brigade and the 10th Regional Support Group based in Okinawa.
Incoming Commanding General of the 8th TSC, Major General Davidson has held a wide variety of command and staff positions, both in peace and war. She has served overseas tours in Hawaii and operational combat deployments in Kuwait and Iraq during Operation Desert Shield, Operation Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
After the ceremony, Philippine Consul General to Honolulu Gina A. Jamoralin congratulated Major General Davidson on her new assignment and bid goodbye to outgoing commander, Major General Dorman. END
