On the Shooting Incident Near Los Angeles

08 November 2018 — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) expresses its sympathy to the families of the 12 people killed in a shooting incident near Los Angeles late Wednesday evening.

The Department is monitoring developments related to the incident that took place inside a crowded dance bar in Thousand Oaks, California, about 40 minutes west of Los Angeles.

Consul General Adel Angelito Cruz said the Philippine Consulate General in Los Angeles is checking with authorities if there were Filipinos among the dead or injured in the incident.

There are an estimated 25,879 members of the Filipino Community in Ventura County where Thousand Oaks is located. END
