Update on Assistance Extended to Filipino Truck Drivers in Europe

11 November 2018 — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) continues to assist Filipino truck drivers in Europe who were reported working and living in substandard conditions. The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) also issued an order preventing United Primover Enterprise Inc (UPEI) in Manila and its principal, HBT Transport Internationale in Poland, which recruited the drivers from the Philippines, from further recruiting until the issue is resolved. The Department, through the Philippine Embassies in Oslo, Berlin and Warsaw, continues to work with relevant government and nongovernment authorities in Denmark, Germany, and Poland to uphold the rights of the Filipino truck drivers.
