On the Arrival of 200 Repatriates from the UAE
11 November 2018 — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) will welcome home tomorrow another 200 undocumented Filipinos who were granted amnesty by the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The latest batch brings to 2,481 the total number of Filipinos repatriated by the DFA since the amnesty program there began in August. The repatriates will arrive at 8 a.m. on board a Philippine Airlines flight from Dubai. The DFA shouldered the cost of their immigration penalty fees and airfare and will provide them with cash assistance upon arrival. The Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General in Dubai reminded undocumented Filipinos there they only have until 1 December to apply for amnesty after UAE authorities extended the program when it ended on 31 October.
