Bulletin: On Missing Filipina in Bali

16 January 2019 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has requested the assistance of authorities in Indonesia in locating a Filipina tourist who has been missing in Bali since Christmas.

The Philippine Embassy in Jakarta said it has filed a missing person report for Ella Balmaceda Paaño after her family in the Philippines reported losing contact with her since 25 December.

Ambassador to Indonesia Leehiong Wee said Paaño, a resort worker in Coron, left for Bali on 22 December and was supposed to have returned to the Philippines on 28 December. Paaño’s mobile phone cannot be contacted and her last Facebook post was on 24 December.

On Tuesday, Paaño’s sisters traveled to Manila from Camarines Sur to request the assistance of the Department in finding her.
