Bulletin: On the Severe Winter Weather in the U.S. Midwest
30 January 2019 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) advises Filipinos living in the Midwest United States to take extra precautions for severe winter weather expected this week.
According to Consul General Gina A. Jamoralin, the National Weather Service reported that a record low of minus 25, with wind chill factor of minus 50-55 will hit from late night Tuesday. Filipinos are further advised to avoid unnecessary travels, limit time exposure to colds, and exercise fire safety and monitor portable heaters.
The Philippine Consulate General in Chicago will be closed on Wednesday, 30 January for the safety of the public and its personnel.
