Bulletin: On the Fire at the 16th District of Paris
05 February 2019 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) is monitoring the aftermath of a deadly fire that razed an apartment building in a district in Paris where many Filipinos are known to reside.
The Philippine Embassy in Paris said it is coordinating with authorities to determine if there were Filipinos among the 10 fatalities and the 37 people injured in the blaze that struck the eight-story apartment building at Rue Erlanger in Paris’s 16th District past midnight on Tuesday.
Ambassador to France Ma. Theresa Lazaro extended the Embassy’s condolences to the loved ones of those who lost their lives in the incident and expressed hope that no Filipinos were among the dead and injured.
The Embassy also called on members of the Filipino Community who may have been affected by the fire to call its Emergency Hotline at 0620592515 for Assistance. END
