Bulletin: On the Death of Two Filipinos in Paris Fire

07 February 2019 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) expresses its condolences to the loved ones of a Filipino couple who were among those who perished in the fire that razed an apartment building in Paris on Tuesday.

The Department conveyed its sympathies after the Philippine Embassy in Paris tonight received confirmation from the Crisis Center of the Paris Prefecture under the French Ministry of Interior that a couple of Philippine nationality were among the 10 people who were killed in the fire on on Rue Erlanger at the 16th Arrondissement of Paris.

The Embassy had earlier been assisting the daughter of the victims after she reported that her parents were missing in the fire.

Ambassador to France Ma. Theresa Lazaro said four other Filipinos staying in the building survived the fire.

Ambassador Lazaro said the Embassy is ready to extend any help necessary to the families of the victims who she declined to identify. END
