Statement: On Secretary Locsin’s Visit to Hungary

14 February 2019 – Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro L. Locsin, Jr. is in Hungary for an official visit aimed at strengthening Manila’s ties with Budapest.

During his three-day visit, Secretary Locsin will meet his counterpart Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto to discuss bilateral relations as well as regional and global developments.

Secretary Locsin’s visit will provide an opportunity for him to share with Hungarian policy makers, business leaders, and members of the academe developments that have been taking place in the Philippines.

According to the Philippine Embassy in Budapest, the Secretary will also call on Hungarian National Assembly Speaker Laszlo Kover and will give a lecture on Philippine foreign policy at the Institute of Foreign Affairs and Trade. He will also visit the Headquarters of the Hungarian Water Technology Corporation.

After Hungary, Secretary Locsin will proceed to Germany to participate in the Munich Security Conference. He will also meet the Filipino Community and inaugurate the newly-built Philippine Embassy in Berlin. END
