Bulletin: On the Filipina Injured in a Vehicular Accident in Kazakhstan
27 March 2019 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), through the Philippine Embassy in Moscow, is assisting a Filipina who was injured in a multiple-vehicle collision in Kazakhstan on 26 March 2019. The accident involving three buses, two passenger cars and an ambulance left two persons dead and 27 injured.
Ambassador to Russia Carlos Sorreta said Jennifer Francisco Lavapiez informed the Embassy through its Facebook page that she was injured in the accident. The Embassy immediately contacted her and ascertained that she was in stable condition at a hospital in Astana and is also being assisted by her employer.
The Embassy is monitoring her situation and is coordinating with its contacts in Kazakhstan in following up with the bus company on their support for the victims of the collision. END
