On the Series of Small Bombings in Bangkok

2 August 2019 — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) echoes the advisory issued by the Philippine Embassy in Bangkok shortly after a series of small bombings took place in Bangkok this morning.

The blasts were heard as Thailand was hosting the ASEAN Foreign Ministerial Meeting (AMM) and Related Meetings. No delegation attending the said high-level meetings was affected. Furthermore, there were no Filipino casualties reported.

Filipinos staying and traveling in Thailand are urged to remain calm, but take extra precautions. Filipinos are likewise advised to cooperate with Thai authorities as they implement heightened security measures.
