On the Massive Fire in Maldives

 22 September 2019 – The Department of Foreign Affairs, through the Philippine Embassy in Bangladesh, is closely monitoring the aftermath of the massive fire that broke out Friday night in Malé, the capital city of Maldives, displacing more than a hundred residents. The Philippine Embassy in Bangladesh, which has jurisdiction over Maldives, reported that as of the moment, the seven Filipinos residing in the buildings engulfed by the blaze are all reported safe. Ambassador to Bangladesh Vicente Vivencio T. Bandillo said that the Philippine Consulate in Malé is closely monitoring the situation. END
