Statement: On the Passing of Former UN Secretary-General Javier Perez De Cuellar

 13 March 2020 — The Philippines is saddened by the passing of former United Nations Secretary-General Javier Perez de Cuellar of Peru. His term as the leader of the world's community of nations from 1982 to 1991 was marked by significant progress towards the attainment of global peace. His achievements as Secretary-General shall inspire all to even strive further towards this elusive common goal for the betterment of all mankind. The Philippines conveys its deepest condolences to the family of Mr. Perez de Cuellar.
