Statement: On the Passing of Retired Ambassador Pedro O. Chan

27 July 2022 — The Department of Foreign Affairs mourns the sudden death of Ambassador Pedro O. Chan, who passed away this morning after a road accident in Butuan City.

Ambassador Chan served the Department of Foreign Affairs for 34 years. He was a tireless advocate for the Filipino people, and was beloved by the communities he served throughout his time abroad as a Filipino diplomat.
