UK Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Affairs the Rt Hon. David Lammy MP to Visit the Philippines on 08 March 2025
MANILA 07 March 2025 – The UK Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Affairs, the Rt Hon. David Lammy MP, will visit the Philippines on 08 March 2025.
Secretary Lammy’s visit is envisioned to solidify the Enhanced Partnership between the Philippines and the United Kingdom, which was launched in 2021, through the signing of the Joint Framework of the Enhanced Partnership, and thereby, to further deepen PH-UK bilateral relations.
During his one-day official visit, Secretary Lammy will meet with Secretary for Foreign Affairs Enrique A. Manalo to review cooperation across various pillars of the Enhanced Partnership such as trade and investments, defense, maritime, climate change and environment, and science and technology.
The visit will also set in motion preparations for the commemoration of the 80 years of Philippines-UK bilateral relations in 2026.
The Foreign Ministers will exchange views and insights on regional and international issues of mutual concern, in relation to the PH-UK commitment to promote peace, stability, and a rules-based international order.
Secretary Lammy will call on the President at the Malacanan Palace, and will also meet with the Philippine Defense Secretary, the Philippine Coast Guard and DSWD. END
