DFA Statement on the Passing of Ms. Leah Mosquerra

13 July 2025 – The Department regrets to inform the nation of the passing of Ms. Leah Mosquera, the Filipina caregiver severely injured during the missile attack on Rehovot, Israel on 15 June. The information was relayed by her sister who is also working in Israel.

The Department conveys its deepest condolences Ms. Mosquera’s family and loved ones. The Philippine Embassy in Israel is now working on the repatriation of her remains.

The Department thanks the medical professionals who took care of Ms. Mosquera, as well as the Filipino community in Israel who offered comfort and support to her family during her hospitalization.

As we mourn Ms. Mosquera’s passing, the Department renews its call for the protection of civilians, including migrant workers, during times of conflict. END
