23 May 2016 – As part of Philippine Ambassador to Vienna Maria Zeneida Angara Collinson’s continuing initiative to promote women empowerment within the framework of the Philippine Government’s Gender and Develppment (GAD) program, the Philippine Embassy held a screening of a Star Cinema feature film entitled, “Everything About Her,” and a short documentary from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts on women in the arts scene.  

Speaking on behalf of the Ambassador, Deputy Chief of Mission and Consul General Sulpicio M. Confiado delivered a message highlighting the contribution of Filipino women, particularly those in the health care profession, to the health and well-being of Austrian society. He also highlighted the significance for Filipino women in celebrating April 30 as, on that day in 1937, the campaign for women suffrage led by Mrs. Aurora Aragon Quezon was won.

About 60 members of the Filipino community attended the event, with most looking forward to the next GAD activity. END
