Embassy Holds a Gender and Development Activity, Kapihan sa Pasuguan

24 August 2017 Bandar Seri Begawan — The Philippine Embassy in Brunei Darussalam conducted a Gender and Development (GAD) forum “Healthy Lifestyle and Women’s Health” on July 21 at the Chancery.

Dr. Mary Jane Ereso, a Filipino doctor working at the Primary Healthcare Department of the Ministry of Health of Brunei Darussalam discussed the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and gave emphasis on women’s health. She zeroed in on health issues such as pregnancy, menopause, and the yearly health screenings that every woman should regularly undergo.

The activity was attended by around 50 Overseas Filipinos (OFs), mostly females. 

The forum was followed by a health screening for the GAD participants by volunteers from the Philippine Nurses Association (PNA).

After the screening, Embassy officials apprised the Filipino Community on the I-Dole Card, and the upcoming events of the Embassy.  The Filipino community representatives were also given the opportunity to announce their respective organizations’ events during the Kapihan sa Pasuguan.

In observance of the 39th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week, the audio-visual presentation titled “Inclusion” from the National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA) was also shown prior to the start of both activities. END
