13 February 2014 – The Philippine Embassy in Ankara, Turkey established the first Department of Foreign Affairs Ladies Foundation (DFALF) Chapter in Ankara with 10 initial members who gathered for its first general meeting last February 11.

Presiding over the meeting, Chapter President and Ambassador Maria Rowena Mendoza Sanchez emphasized the importance of the DFALF Ankara Chapter not just in strengthening the camaraderie of the ladies at Post but also in increasing awareness on the Philippines in Turkey. She also briefed the DFALF members about DFALF, especially its tasks, various activities and projects in the Philippines, and how the Ankara Chapter can contribute to the pursuit of the goals of the DFALF.

The meeting was concluded with the election of DFALF Ankara Chapter Executive Officers and Chairs of Committees, which includes Committees on Finance, Fundraising and Scholarship; 2) Trainings; 3) Sports; and 4) Fellowship and Outings.  END
