SFA Locsin Administers Oath of Office of the ASEAN Ladies Foundation, Inc. (ALF) Board of Trustees

PASAY CITY 11 March 2022 — Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro L. Locsin, Jr. administered the oath of office of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Ladies Foundation, Inc. (ALF) Board of Trustees for CY 2022 at the Carlos P. Garcia Conference Room on 09 March 2022.  

The newly elected Board is composed of Ms. Nurriha Binti Ahmad of Malaysia (President), Ms. Tran Thi Thu Hien of Viet Nam (Vice President), Ms. Atipha Vadhanaphong of Thailand (Press Relations Officer), and from the Philippines, Ms. Alice Tesoro Guerrero (Treasurer), Ms. Veronica Baluyut-Jimenez (Auditor), and Ms. Nora Salazar (Corporate Secretary).

ALF Chairperson Mme. Maria Lourdes B. Locsin also conveyed her appreciation to outgoing Board of Trustees President Mme. Anothay Luangmuninthone, accompanied by Lao PDR Ambassador to the Philippines Songkane Luangmuninthone, and Ms. Nurriha Binti Ahmad in a ceremonial turnover. Also present to witness the ceremony were Ambassador Norman Bin Muhamad of Malaysia, Ambassador Johariah Wahab of Brunei Darussalam and  Ambassador Hoang Huy Chung of Vietnam, Chargé Vong Sopheap of Cambodia and guests from the ASEAN Embassies.

The ALF seeks to promote awareness and understanding of the various history and cultural heritage of ASEAN member countries. Last year, despite the pandemic, the ALF was able to launch the book, “Table for Ten: ASEAN Shared Food Traditions”, and commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the ALF. END
