ASEAN Ladies Foundation Holds Special Meeting Under New Chair Madame Pamela Louise Manalo

PASAY CITY 24 October 2022 — The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Ladies Foundation, Inc. (ALF), held a special meeting between Board Members, ASEAN country representatives, and its new Chairperson, Mme. Pamela Louise Manalo, on 07 October 2022 at the Department of Foreign Affairs.

Opening the meeting, Mme. Manalo underscored that with the easing of pandemic-related restrictions, the ALF will plan for more face-to-face activities.

"I count on your continued support and cooperation as we usher the ALF to the post- pandemic era. The success of the ALF is your success, and I am truly excited to be working with you all,” Mme. Manalo said.

She also invited the ALF to participate in the upcoming International Bazaar scheduled for 20 November at the World Trade Center Metro Manila.

A brief meet-and-greet with Secretary for Foreign Affairs Enrique A. Manalo followed the meeting, with the Secretary administering the oath of office of the new ALF President, Ms. Siti Sadiah Ahmad Zaidi Adruce, spouse of Deputy Chief of Mission Mohd Fareed Zakaria of the Malaysian Embassy.

Mme. Manalo also conveyed her appreciation to outgoing officers: President Nurriha Ahmad of Malaysia and ALF country representatives Ms. Vong Sopheap of Cambodia and Ms. Jessica Tan of Singapore.

The ALF seeks to promote awareness and understanding of the various histories and cultural heritage of ASEAN member countries. Among its activities are museum tours and food festivals, during which the ALF aims to showcase the richness of ASEAN cultures and culinary heritage.
