DFA Ladies Foundation Celebrates PH Arts and Women at First-ever Exhibition

PASAY CITY 27 March 2023 – The DFA Ladies Foundation (DFALF) held its first art exhibition on 16-17 March 2023 at the Carlos P. Romulo Library of the Foreign Service Institute. The event is a culmination of the Foundation’s celebration of National Arts Month and Women’s Month.

In her opening remarks, DFALF Chairperson Madame Pamela Louise H. Manalo congratulated participating members and their family members for taking part in DFALF activities.

“It is my hope that the works displayed here will inspire pride and interest in Filipino artistry, and spark conversations on the vital role of women in the Philippine Foreign Service and in the broader society. Let this exhibit be an expression of DFALF’s unwavering commitment to securing a sustainable and inclusive future for the Philippines and beyond,” Madame Manalo said.

“This exhibition is a manifestation of women’s talent, capability, and empowerment,” stated First Vice President Candy Cypress-Bauzon, as she shared DFALF’s commitment to support and organize activities that will contribute to the physical, intellectual, and social development of women.

Fifty members and family members from various DFA offices answered the call for artwork submission with the theme Unity, Self-Awareness, Empowerment, and Reaching Out held from 17 to 27 February 2023. In announcing the artists of most liked entries, Sociocultural and Emergency Committee Head Jacqueline L. Ong emphasized, “We are all winners because we are all women.”
