5 January 2015 – The Philippine Embassy in Ankara in cooperation with the Department of Foreign Affairs Ladies Foundation (DFALF) Ankara Chapter established the Day Care Center on the occasion of the commemoration of the martyrdom of Dr. Jose Rizal on 29 December 2014.  The center will serve as playschool for toddler dependents of Embassy personnel and children of overseas Filipinos visiting the Embassy.

Embassy children led by two-year old Ysabella Ong opened the Day Care Center and made immediate use of the facility.

DFALF Ankara Chapter Vice-President and Head of the Embassy's Gender and Development Section, Vice Consul Ericka Anna Abad in her remarks said that the establishment of a day care center  supports Dr. Jose Rizal’s saying that “the youth is the hope of our nation“.  END
