16 August 2013 - Forty-five (45) of the members and dependents of the Department of Foreign Affairs’ Ladies Foundation (DFALF) completed the Second Civil Service Review for the Professional and Sub Professional Examinations conducted by DFALF from June 29 to August 10.
The main objective of the Review was to prepare DFA personnel, with no appropriate eligibility, to hurdle the Civil Service exams. Obtaining the appropriate eligibility would qualify them for permanent/higher appointments in the Department.
Ms. Josephine Teves of the Learning Mate Tutorial Center conducted the review covering English, Mathematics and Filipino. Professor Jan Robert Go of the University of the Philippines covered the sessions on General Information and Logic. The lectures also provided intensive practical application exercises and personal tips and advice in taking the exams.
Diagnostic and mock examinations were also administered prior to and at the end of the Review.
At simple closing ceremony held on August 10, Certificates of Attendance were distributed to the participants. DFA Assistant Secretary for Personnel and Administrative Services Melita Sta. Maria-Thomeczek, also DFALF President, expressed satisfaction on the interest and desire of the reviewees to properly equip themselves for the CS exams. With the new knowledge, concepts and techniques acquired during the Review, she encouraged the participants to take the CS exams scheduled on 13 October 2013. She also reiterated the DFALF’s standing offer to refund the registration fee of P300.00 to the successful examinees.
She also expressed her deep appreciation to the DFALF officers, and to Ms. Teves, for their patience, dedication and commitment in bringing about the fruitful conclusion of this important DFALF activity.
The Project Coordinator was Ms. Norma Pastrana with team members composed of Ms. Lorraine M. Espiritu, Ms. Rosabelle Toledo, Ms. Felicitas Commendador and the DFALF Secretariat. END
