Today, the Philippines joins Canada in commemorating the 154th anniversary of Canada’s confederation.
The Philippines deeply values its relationship with Canada, which is anchored on our strong people-to-people ties and shared commitment to freedom, democracy, and the rule of law.
The Philippines thanks Canada for the welcome it has extended to Filipinos who have made Canada their second home, many of whom serve at the frontlines of the health and service sectors. It always brings me pride and honor whenever I hear of their exceptional courage, dedication, and professionalism during this pandemic.
The Philippines looks forward to further strengthening its partnership with Canada as it upholds and promotes our shared values and commitment to shaping a more peaceful and secure world, for the benefit of our peoples.
On behalf of the Philippine Government, I wish all Canadians around the world, a meaningful celebration.
