20 November 2013 – The Russian Government, throught the Ministry of the Russian Federation for Civil Defense, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters (EMERCOM), sent humanitarian aid for Filipinos affected by typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan).

The aid was delivered by an EMERCOM aircraft to Cebu City on November 14 and 15.

Russian tourists who were stranded in the Philippines due to the calamity took the aircraft’s return flight to their homeland.


The Russian Government expressed the hope that the relief goods will ease the hardship of
Filipinos affected by typhoon Yolanda. It  also assured of continued support for Filipino people’s efforts to overcome the effects of the natural disaster. END
