AUTHENTICATION
19 December 2013 – Mayor Jim Dear and Councilmembers of the City of Carson presented check of US$ 15,000 to ABS-CBN Foundation Inc. for Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) Relief at the margins of a City Council meeting on December 17.
Filipino-American Mayor Pro Temp Elito Santarina led the fundraising event, who called on local businesses and community to assist in the Typhoon Relief efforts. Watson Land Company donated $10,000 and the Filipino community in the City of Carson has so far raised $ 5,000. Mayor Jim Dear said that the amount is an initial donation and that fundraising efforts will continue to help the Philippines in its recovery efforts. END
