DFA-BFSE Releases Results of the 2016 FSO Examinations

04 September 2017 – The Department of Foreign Affairs’ (DFA) Board of Foreign Service Examinations (BFSE) is pleased to announce that 26 out of 527 examinees passed the 2016 Foreign Service Officer (FSO) Examinations, held from August 2016 to July 2017.

Ms. Vida Soraya S. Versoza, a 35-year-old lawyer from Marikina City, topped the Exam with a composite rating of 86.93%.  Ms. Versoza has a Bachelor of Science degree in Development Communication from the University of the Philippines Los Banos, and a law degree from the Ateneo de Manila University.  She currently works at the International Justice Mission.

The 26 passers shall be recommended to the President for appointment as Foreign Service Officer, Class IV.

Aside from obtaining passing marks in the five parts of the FSO Exam (Qualifying Test, Preliminary Interview, Written Test, Psychological Test, Oral Test), candidates must obtain a composite rating of 80% in the Written and Oral Tests in order to be certified as having passed the FSO Exam.

The DFA encourages aspiring individuals to take the FSO Exam, which if passed, confers eligibility for appointment as FSO, Class IV.  Natural-born Filipino citizens with a four-year bachelor’s degree and at least two years of work experience or further studies are eligible to apply. END
