OFWs in HK Receive Free Breast Exam & Mammogram

02 February 2018 HONG KONG – The Philippine Consulate General, in partnership with the Hong Kong Breast Cancer Foundation (HKBCF), organized and sponsored free breast screening, mammogram services and a talk on breast health at the new building of HKBCF in Ngau Chi Wan, Kowloon on 28 January.
The new building or the HKBCF Jockey Club Breast Health Centre (Kowloon) will officially open on 8 March 2018.
Now on its seventh year, the project aims to promote health and wellness among members of the Filipino Community in Hong Kong. The activity benefited more than 70 women OFWs.
The HKBCF was represented by Ms. Grace Chung, Senior Health Service Officer; Ms. Liza Leung, Health Service Officer; Ms. Li Man Shum, Health Service Officer; Ms. Nicole Ying, Health Service Officer; and Ms. Alice Yeung, Executive Officer.
Ms. Nicole Ying discussed symptoms, statistics, and risk factors of breast cancer, as well as how to conduct self-examination and breast cancer treatment, during the talk on breast health.
This event was held under the auspices of the Consulate’s gender and development (GAD) program. END
