PH Embassy in Tokyo Joins Campaign to End Violence Against Women
PHOTO: The Philippine Embassy in Tokyo joined the 18-day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW) with the theme “VAW-free community starts with Me” from 25 November to 12 December 2018.
In partnership with the Network of Filipino Social Development Workers in Japan (NetFil), the Embassy conducted a seminar-workshop on domestic violence awareness for its personnel where participants gained a better understanding on domestic violence and the recommended actions to help those affected.
Ambassador to Japan Jose C. Laurel V remarked that domestic violence is no longer a private issue and that the community should be involved to stop the cycle of domestic violence.
“I hope that the training helped our personnel become more sensitive to this issue,” the Ambassador stated.
During the seminar, NetFil members and Embassy participants wore orange, the color of the campaign. (Tokyo PE photo)
