PH Embassy in Madrid Celebrates Women’s Month with Info Caravan
MADRID 14 March 2019 – The Philippine Embassy in Madrid celebrated this year’s International Women’s Month through an information caravan entitled “Hatid Kaalaman Para sa mga Pilipino” at Las Rozas, Spain on 10 March 2019.
The Embassy’s information caravan kicked off its second successful campaign with a group of approximately 100 attendees from the Mayantoquenian Association, a local Filipino Community organization whose members are from Mayantoc, Tarlac.
Labor Attaché Joan Lourdes D. Lavilla, Defense and Armed Forces Attaché Colonel Harold Anthony F. Pascua, Welfare Officer Nesa S. Nolido, and Gender and Development (GAD) Focal Person Chester A. Diaz conducted the forum, which is aimed at increasing the public knowledge and information on consular services, labor and welfare services, security affairs and other Embassy projects/programs. The caravan also provided services and consultations.
A training on “Starting Your Own Business” was also conducted as part of the GAD, Preparedness and Reintegration Programs of the Embassy for overseas Filipinos by empowering them through additional knowledge and skills.
The Embassy’s “Information Handbook for Filipinos” was also distributed to all participants.
A brainchild project of Ambassador to Spain Philippe J. Lhuillier, “Hatid Kaalaman Para sa mga Pilipino sa Spain at Andorra,” aims to provide Filipinos with a comprehensive information program and trainings at their doorsteps. END
