YANGON 29 March 2019 – The Philippine Embassy in Yangon celebrated Philippine National Women's Month by organizing a seminar on stress management for the Filipino community entitled "Balance for Women: Enhancing Your Well Being by Reducing Stress and Building Resilience" conducted by speaker Mr. Restituto R. Pitogo at the Grand Mercure Yangon Golden Empire Hotel on 24 March 2019.
The seminar was conducted to train the participants, most especially the women, to understand, recognize and deal with the different kinds of stress in their work and personal lives. It helped them deal with anxiety, frustration and other emotions related to stress through the learning of stress management techniques that will improve their overall well-being and health.
Embassy Chargé d'Affaires Stephanie Alexis Cruz said that the Embassy organized this event in conjunction with the theme of International Women’s Day “Balance for Better” and the theme of Philippine National Women’s Month “Make Change Work for Women”.
Chargé d'Affaires Cruz stated that despite having careers, women are still expected to perform many responsibilities at home as a mother and a wife. She emphasized that it is important for a woman to know how to balance everything and deal effectively with stress so that she will be able to perform and give everything that is expected of her to the best of her ability.
The event was attended by 42 Filipino women and 10 Filipino men. END
