PH Embassy in Moscow Holds Talk on Violence Against Women

MOSCOW 20 January 2020 –– The Philippine Embassy in Moscow held a special lecture on Violence Against Women in observance of the Philippine Commission on Women’s 18-Day Campaign to End Violence against Women (VAW).
Experts from the Safe House Foundation delivered before members of the Filipino Ccommunity and Embassy personnel a lecture entitled, “Prevention and Combating Violence Against Women” at the Philippine Embassy in Moscow on 01 December 2019.
The Safe House Foundation is a non-profit organization that rehabilitates victims of human trafficking and educates vulnerable groups in Russia.
Program Coordinators from the Grishina of Safe House Foundation Veronica Antimonik and Anastasia Grishina discussed human rights, as well as safety issues and forms of violence against women and girls.
A total of 26 members of the Filipino community attended the seminar, majority of whom were women. The seminar was received positively by the audience, with many of them expressing their interest in attending more seminars in future. END
