PH Consulate General in Dubai Holds Seminar on Financial Literacy
DUBAI 05 March 2020 — The Philippine Consulate General in Dubai and Northern Emirates conducted the first module of the Consulate’s year-long financial literacy program that focused on savings, budgeting, and debt elimination and management on 28 February 2020.
The Consulate General was pleased to note that most of the participants were related to each other— married couples, parents and their children, siblings, and cousins who were all eager to learn the ropes of being financially independent. Since the program’s inception in 2017, the Consulate has been emphasizing the importance of involving the family members, including the overseas Filipino’s family back home, on the importance of good financial management.
Attendees participated in a workshop that aimed to help them create a spending plan to better manage their hard earned money. Participants also learned how to manage their personal debts effectively.
