Jeddah-Based OFWs Finish Vocational Programs

JEDDAH 11 March 2020 – A total of 28 overseas Filipino worker (OFWs) in Jeddah completed their training and received on 28 February 2020 certificates for completing the massage wellness, cosmetology, and hairdressing courses.

The graduates, who hold regular day jobs, underwent several months of training conducted by the Sangguniang Masang Pilipino International Incorporated (SMPII)-Jeddah Chapter. The graduation ceremonies took place at the La Parilla Restaurant in Jeddah.

Philippine Consul General to Jedadah Edgar B. Badajos, through Vice-Consul Alfred Guiang, commended the graduates for going the extra mile to acquire additional vocational skills despite having regular jobs. He urged them to continue learning and to be innovators in their respective fields to be able to survive the demands of a fast-changing world.

The graduates were also advised to save capital and use it to set up their own businesses back in the Philippines which will not only redound to more earnings for them but also contribute to the Philippine economy. END
