DFA Consular Office La Union Joins National Women’s Month Celebration

LA UNION 11 March 2020 — The Department of Foreign Affairs Consular Office La Union participated in the Region 1 Advocates for Gender Equality’s (RAGE–1) Kick-Off Ceremony for the 2020 National Women’s Month Celebration (NWMC) held at the Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University Mid-La Union Campus (DMMMSU-MLUC), City of San Fernando, La Union on 06 March 2020.

The activity, spearheaded by RAGE 1 and headed by DMMMSU, was attended by around 400 officials and personnel of various government agencies and students of Region 1. RAGE 1 President Perla A. Sotelo welcomed all attendees and acknowledged their participation. Dr. Eduardo C. Corpuz, Chancellor of DMMMSU-MLUC, conveyed the significance of the 2020 NWMC’s theme “We Make Change Work for Women”.

Important activities during the event included Health/Wellness and Services Fair such as Serbisyo Para kay Juan at Juana, Gender and Development Advocacy Dialogue, and Short Film Competition.

The Health/Wellness and Services Fair was an important venue for government agencies to provide their respective services to participants of the event. The personnel of the Consular Office in La Union distributed fliers on passport requirements and attended to numerous queries on passport application. RAGE 1 officials appreciated the Consular Office’s valuable contribution to the success of the celebration. END
