MANAMA 21 July 2020 — The Philippine Embassy in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA)-Manama held two training sessions on face mask making on 10 and 17 July 2020, with seven and 12 participants, respectively, or a total of 19 participants, at the Embassy lobby.

The sessions were conducted by Mr. Segundo Dacillo, an OFW in Bahrain, who volunteers his time and talent to teach new skills to his fellow Filipinos in Bahrain. Mr. Dacillo also conducted the dress making seminar sponsored by OWWA in December 2019.

The training was part of the Embassy’s and OWWA’s upskilling and reintegration program for those in its Migrant Workers and Other Overseas Filipinos Resource Center (MWOFRC) who are awaiting repatriation to the Philippines. It aims to provide the participants with an alternative source of livelihood when they return home. It is also part of the Embassy’s efforts to create awareness regarding the importance of health and safety protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19. END
