Philippine Consulate General in Los Angeles Provides Assistance to Domestic Violence Victims

LOS ANGELES 02 March 2021 – Two domestic violence survivors were given financial assistance by the Philippine Consulate General in Los Angeles at a meeting with Consulate General officials on 19 February 2021.
The two Filipinas narrated how they suffered physical and emotional abuse from their spouses. One was hospitalized after being stabbed in the neck and nearly killed. The other survivor, along with her children, suffered physical and verbal abuse. The two survivors requested financial and legal assistance from the Consulate General to help provide for their children’s needs and fight for their custody while recovering from the abuse.
The financial assistance was made possible through funding from the Department of Foreign Affairs’ Assistance to Nationals (ATN) Fund via the Bayanihan to Recover As One Act. END
