PH Embassy in Manama Honors Outstanding Women Leaders

MANAMA 31 March 2021 — As part of the 2021 National Women’s Month celebration, the Philippine Embassy in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain launched the “Juana Laban sa Pandemya: Kaya!” online campaign, recognizing Filipina leaders among the members of the community who have made significant contributions toward shaping a more equal future and recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
A total of twelve (12) outstanding Filipina leaders in Bahrain were selected and featured in the Embassy’s social media accounts for the whole month of March, namely: Mesdames Redina C. Manlapaz, Evangeline F. Uy, Dr. Jofrelyn S. Bistoyong, Antonette G. Avila, Rosalie W. Nochefranca, Desiree P. Brigola, Jamila A. Amindato, Dinah E. Sta. Ana, Felicidad Benchie B. Fortuno, Gimmarie B. Reyes, Catherine B. Paje, and Eleanor S. Baun.
As a culminating activity of this month-long project, these women leaders were also awarded plaques of commendation at a ceremony led by Philippine Ambassador to Bahrain Alfonso A. Ver and held at the Philippine Embassy on 31 March 2021.
Coming from varied backgrounds and professional affiliations, these women have exhibited boundless generosity and courage and provided selfless service to the community. They embody the true spirit of an empowered Juana, worthy of emulation by the younger generation of women and girls. END
