PH Consulate General in Dubai Celebrates Breast Cancer Awareness Month

DUBAI 27 October 2021 – In line with the annual celebration of the Breast Cancer Awareness month, the Consulate General of the Philippines in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, in partnership with Right Health, organized a free breast screening, assessment and seminar for staff and personnel of the Consulate and its attached agencies on 27 October 2021 at the Rizal Hall of the Consulate.

In his opening remarks, Philippine Consul General to Dubai Paul Raymund P. Cortes emphasized the importance of looking after one’s health and the significance of raising awareness of the disease not just for our benefit but also for the people around us.

The seminar was facilitated by Dr. Sujaya Rajasekhar, a Specialist and General Surgeon. She discussed the common symptoms, causes, and prevention of breast cancer. Dr. Rajasekhar reminded the attendees that breast self-examination can save lives and that early detection can cure breast cancer.

To raise awareness, the Philippine Consulate conducts a yearly campaign in the hopes of educating more people on the prevention and fight against breast cancer. END
