MALOLOS, 03 December 2021 – If “Orange letter days” would be a thing, then it would be the perfect phrase to describe the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW).

The DFA Consular Office in Malolos City commemorated the Anti-VAW Days on 30 November 2021 with the theme, “SA DFA MALOLOS, BAWAL BASTOS.” The commemoration featured two activities, namely,  “A Lecture on Republic Act No. 9262 (Anti-VAWC Act of 2004)” by Atty. Cyrelle A. Austria and “A Skills-Enhancement Seminar on Relevant Laws and Jurisprudence in the Practice of Providing Consular Services” by Dean Nenita H. Dela Cruz-Tuazon, DCL, officials of the Bulacan State University College of Law (BULSU COL). They were assisted by the students and staff of BULSU COL Legal Aid Center.

Atty. Austria, BULSU COL College Secretary and Professor in Clinical Legal Education lectured on the salient features of Anti-VAWC Law as well as relevant laws and jurisprudence that evoke the protection of women and their children. On the other hand, Dean Tuazon delivered a skills-enhancement seminar to DFA CO Malolos personnel that would be beneficial in the exercise of their function as consular officers.

The event ended with the recitation of the Safe Spaces Pledge and the ceremonial signing of the Anti-VAW streamer. END
