PH Embassy in Beirut renews partnership with NGO supporting women and children
BEIRUT 09 December 2021 — The Philippine Embassy in Lebanon renewed its partnership with KAFA (enough) Violence & Exploitation (KAFA) to intensify efforts in extending assistance to distressed Filipino migrants on 06 December 2021.
KAFA is a Lebanese civil, non-governmental, non-profit organization (NGO) providing social, legal, and psychological support to women and children who have been victims of violence. Since 2018, the Embassy and KAFA has been working together for the purpose of eliminating different forms of exploitation and violence against women and children, especially migrants.
To support KAFA’s shelter expansion, the Embassy donated 15 double decker beds. KAFA has previously provided shelter and legal assistance for Filipino nationals who were victims of violence.
The renewal of said partnership is also aligned with the Philippine government’s 18-day campaign to raise awareness on ending Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC). END
