Ottawa PE Celebrates Women’s Month

OTTAWA 14 March 2022 - Ambassador Rodolfo D. Robles led personnel of the Embassy of the Philippines in celebrating Women’s Day. This year’s celebration was highlighted by a screening on 09 March 2022 of “Heels at Work: Do Symbols of Professionalism Imbued with Femininity Offer Women a Leg Up or Create an Unequal Footing for Them in the Workplace?” organized by the Program on Negotiation of the Harvard Law School.

The lecture was conducted by Ms. Sreedari Desai, Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior and Crist W. Blackwell Scholar of the Kenan-Flagler Business School of the University of North Carolina. Prof. Desai shared the results of her studies on the impact of women’s footwear on perceptions of competence, highlighting the gendered norms that continue to exist in the workplace.
