YANGON 21 March 2022 – In commemoration of Women's Month, the Philippine Embassy in Yangon, Myanmar in cooperation with First Metro Securities Brokerage Corporation (FMS) conducted the second in a series of Financial Literacy Webinars on 20 March 2022 via Google Meet with the Filipino Community.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Filipinos, mostly women, have lost their jobs. This coupled with their lack of knowledge on how to budget their limited resources inspired the Embassy to organize a webinar series to empower these Filipinos and encourage them to be financially independent.

During the webinar, OFW Desk Head, Ms. Vanessa Galvez discussed the 5 steps to attain financial health, while AVP and Head of Business Development and Market Education, Mr. Andro Leo Beltran discussed the investment options OFWs can avail of. He emphasized that budgeting and saving is not enough, and shared with the participants the different opportunities to grow their money such as stocks and real estate investment trusts.

More than 20 Filipinos attended the second day of the webinar series. END
