PH Embassy in Yangon, PH Dept of Agriculture Conduct Agribusiness Webinar in Commemoration of Women's Month

YANGON 29 March 2022 – The Philippine Embassy in Yangon, Myanmar in cooperation with the Department of Agriculture (DA) - Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Service (AMAS) conducted a Financial Literacy Webinar via Google Meet with the Filipino Community on 27 March 2022. The webinar is the third and last in a series of financial literacy webinars that the Embassy has organized in commemoration of Women's Month.
AMAS Deputy Director Junibert de Sagun, in his welcome remarks, cautioned the participants from investing their hard-earned money in things they have not fully understood, and reminded them not to deal with unscrupulous persons pretending to be representatives of a reputable company or government agency. He also thanked the Embassy for organizing the webinar to help entice OFWs to become agri-entrepreneurs and in the process help in the recovery of the economy.
DA officials touched on different topics. First, Ms. Ludivina Rueda, Supervising Agriculturist at DA-AMAS discussedabout basic agri-entrepreneurship and was followed by a discussion on the different agribusiness opportunities available to OFWs by Ms. Luzviminda Tolentino, Marketing Specialist III, and loan programs of the Agricultural Credit and Policy Council (ACPC) by Ms. Emmalyn Guinto, ACPC's Chief of Communications and Public Affairs.
More than 20 Filipinos attended the second day of the webinar series. END
